NZCA/LINES & MOSCOW YOUTH CULT Live

NZCA/LINES is Michael Lovett’s shimmering synth-pop project that combines uplifting pop melodies with R&B beats, lush arrangements and multi-layered harmonies. His first album NZCA/LINES got rave reviews and was dubbed ‘debut of the year’ in 2012.

Roland Systems Group UK organised a special performance at top London studios Metropolis with Lewitt microphones as part of a showcase production day.

NZCA/LINES’ Michael stripped his tracks right back to perform as a duo with his bass player - usually there is a drummer too. The result was a magical, intimate set that included a one-off re-working of his bitter-sweet track Atoms & Axes, a tale of separated sweethearts.

Michael played the Roland Gaia SH-01, and we had a great chat with him about his set-up for live and for recording - we’ll bring you a full interview soon.

NZCA/LINES will be heading off to SXSW in March, performing at the Karma Lounge in Austin on Thursday 14th.

Moscow Youth Cult take electronic music in a different direction with a huge indie-electro dance sound that also manages to be layered and lush.

Working a Roland Gaia and an A-500 Pro it was easy to imagine their music punching through in the biggest of festival settings.

The duo - Jon Dix & Daniel O’Donnell-Smith - are working on their second album and will play at the RISE/Stereophoenix weekend in Wales in May.
